Why are we doing a staff survey?
The survey is an important way for us to find out more about how colleagues experience working at Solutions 4 Health. Asking all staff directly about their working life here will give us a better understanding of the staff experience and how this could be improved – we want to hear your feedback and take action. The survey is just the first step as we’re looking to follow this up with focus group for those who want to take part – these will be the opportunity to delve into the results in more detail and hear about your ideas for making Solutions 4 Health an even better place to work.
Why is staff experience and engagement important?
We want everyone in the staff team at Solutions 4 Health to feel engaged in their work and committed to the organisation. People who are engaged in their work show great vigour, dedication and absorption and research shows that they are more likely to enjoy their work, feel valued and experience greater job satisfaction. Feeling engaged at work also links to better mental and emotional health and lower stress levels outside work, and generally higher life satisfaction. We feel want everyone to feel committed, enthusiastic and motivated in their roles and we know that this will help us provide great services to our clients and, ultimately, help our organisation be successful.
Will what I say make a difference?
Yes! We are committed to taking real action based on the feedback shared through the survey. We invite everyone to share their own unique perspective to help create a full picture of the experience of working at Solutions 4 Health and to benefit from everyone’s ideas about how this could be improved.
How will the survey results be used?
Once the survey has closed, we will be working hard to analyse the results. This will help us understand areas of the survey where we’re doing well at the moment, which we can build on, and areas that need more focus. Shortly after the survey closes we’ll share information about the overall results and we’ll also organise virtual focus groups to give everyone the opportunity to talk about the results in more detail, discussing the stories behind the results and sharing ideas to take forward. These actions will be a key part of the new People Strategy, which is currently in development. You can also expect to see regular ‘You Said, We Did’ updates telling you about the action that’s been taken as a result of the survey.
When will the survey open and close?
The survey will be open from 18th August to 14th September 2025. We hope this will give everyone the opportunity to take part, no matter when they will be taking time off over the summer.
Who can take part in the survey?
All staff working with Solutions 4 Health are encouraged to take part as we want to get the most full and well-rounded view of staff experience possible. This includes people who have recently joined the organisation, those who have transferred in from another organisation, bank staff and agency workers.
How can I access the survey?
A link will be emailed out to all staff to complete the survey via Microsoft Forms.
How long will it take me to complete the survey?
It should take approximately 10 minutes to complete the survey.
Can I complete the survey during work time?
Yes! We actively encourage staff to complete the survey during work time and have recommended to managers that, where possible, they identify a particular time for staff to complete their response eg time at the start of a team meeting.
Is the survey anonymous and how is it kept confidential?
Yes, the survey is anonymous. No-one will be able to see who has submitted each response and no questions have been asked about personal characteristics. We have also grouped smaller services together (eg all ‘stop smoking’ services or all ‘Head Office’ functions). Smaller services are not listed individually for question 1 (the part of the organisation you work in), and if you don’t see your service listed you should select ‘Reading Head Office’.
Individual questionnaire responses will only be viewable by the HR team and these will be anonymous and will not be shared with line managers or anyone else. HR will analyse the responses and provide feedback on overarching results, patterns and themes. If fewer than 10 people have responded from a service then their results will be included within the ‘Reading Head Office’ results.
No sensitive data is requested in the survey.
What other staff engagement will I be able to contribute to?
There will also be short ‘pulse’ surveys and we are looking at the possibility of creating a longer-term staff engagement forum. If you would be interested in being part of this forum please contact Sarah Goodwin, Head of HR.
